Prints
Making a print requires three things: a matrix where the image is designed on (the woodblock, silkscreen, stone, linoleum), pigment to create the image (oil based inks, watercolor, grease crayon, graphtie), and a substrate, what the image is printed on (paper, fabric, plastic, wood). The action of pulling a print is through pressure, either from a printing press, a barren, a squeegee, the back of a spoon, or for giant work, a steamroller.
Prints can be made in an edition, multiple of the same print, as one-off artist proofs, or in a variable edition where each print is unique in its own right, but utilizes a repeatable process for a part of its design.
